Country Buddies Preschool opened in April 2016. As a small country preschool licensed for 23 children per day aged from 2 to 5 years we are able to offer lots of individual attention for children who attend here. Our ratios of teachers to children are better than average.
We are well located, being just 3 km from Morrinsville township in Hangawera Road (Turn left at the top of Studholme Street. We are just past Sunridge Park.) Our country setting and natural environment promotes a peaceful atmosphere that impacts positively on children's development. Younger children do not feel overwhelmed by the presence of too many children, as they might in a larger setting. We have just added a big outdoor shelter to enhance the outdoor area. Families thinking about a preschool should swing by for a visit.
Here at Country Buddies we believe play is a child's work.
Our main goal is that your child will enjoy their time with other children while developing a curiosity and love of learning.
We offer an open-ended play environment, where your child is provided with a wide range of resources so they can express their creativity.
As teachers it is our desire to form a partnership with your family, so that we can work together for the best interests of your child and to help your child/ren achieve their goals. Families extend our ideas and enhance our programme.
Our teachers will assist your children in their development. We gather your aspirations for your child and then we work with these as a teacher/parent team so that your child builds up their confidence and problem solving skills. As teachers, it is our job to empower children to be independent learners; to instill trust in their problem solving and encourage new ideas. Relationships with people are vital to children's well being and sense of belonging.
Our curriculum is based on Te Whaariki, New Zealand's early childhood curriculum. Our bi-cultural and multi-cultural programmes will introduce your child to Maori through karakia, songs, language and art as well European and other cultures. Our practices support children's culture and family practices. Sparking interest to the different ideas and values of others helps children form positive and respectful relationship building skills.
Our open country environment offers a natural setting that incorporates trees and a very large grassed area. We have vegetable gardens to provide learning opportunities for caring for our planet.
Waste recycling practices are evident in our programme.
